Restriction of the Use of certain Hazardous Substances

The acronym has arisen from the EU Directive 2002/95/EC on the restriction of the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment.

Due to a diverse range of approach and to prevent restriction of competition the Directive approximates the laws of the member states on the use of hazardous materials in the electrical and electronic equipment and for the protection of human health and for the environmentally sound recovery and disposal of waste electrical and electronic equipment.
