Dew Point

Dew Point
Summary

Temperature that water vapour condenses to a liquid (water) form

Description

The dew point can be defined as the temperature at which the air, when cooled, will just become saturated.

As a simple example, let us assume that the outside temperate is 18°C and the dew-point can be measured as about 8°C. At night the temperature may fall to 6°C and at all temperatures below 8°C, the dew point, the ground and air colder.

While this situation continues, the water will condense from the air to liquid form and create droplets.

Understanding the dew point is important when managing the humidity within the computer room as if the dew point is ever reached, then your electrical equipment could be placed at risk through the onset of condensation of water.
