Digital pen and paper

Digital pen and paper is an emerging technology that automatically captures handwritten information and and then stores it in a digital format.

This approach is applicable to standard forms that would normally need to be typed in from paper copy and negates the need for this intermediary step.

Adoption of this type of technology is occuring in the medical industry where a reliance on paper is still significant.

The digital pen looks like a standard ballpoint pen but has a small infrared camera in its tip. The handwriting movements are then captured as the pen is used across the form that has been specifically design for use with the pen.

data storage then occurs through wireless interaction with backend systems.
