Carbon Neutral

Carbon Neutral
Summary

A balanced (Zero) CO2 emission environment

Description

A process or company (entity) is considered carbon neutral if the balance of carbon emissions generated by the organisation is, or can be offset to zero.

The usual method applied to achieve carbon neutrality is through the carbon offset scheme where credits can be purchased from accredited brokers to offset the emissions generated by the organisation.

Effectively this method could appear misleading as an organisation does not need to reduce its carbon emissions and footprint, it only needs to purchase sufficient credits to offset it's generated carbon emissions in order to claim it is meeting its social responsibilities in reducing carbon emissions within th eenvironment.
