Cold Aisle Containment

CAC is the process of containing the an aisle of racks into a confined space to contain the cold air stream that is used to pass through the racks.

This enables all of the cold air generated by the cooling system to be funnelled directly at the air intake of the target IT equipment to obtain maximum efficiency from the cooling systems’ unit(s).

CAC may affect the delta T of the cooling system.

Implementation of an CAC environment requires that the aisle is encapsulated by a barrier up to the ceiling and roof panels and containment doors at end of the aisle.
