Airborne Molecular Contamination

Airborne Molecular Contamination is a consideration for data centres and other clean and controlled room environments.

ISO 14644 applies strict controls in terms of airborne concentrations of specific chemical substances and the standard provides a protocol to include test methods, analysis and time weighted factors within the specification for classification.

AMC is a major concern to data centres especially if air-side economisers are used for cooling and control and cleaning of the outside air must be treated to high specification (see ISO 14644-8).
