European Code of Conduct on Data Centre Energy Efficency
Having reached it's first year of operation, the European Union's response to ever increasing energy demand is the European Code of Conduct on Data Centre Energy Efficiency. The European Code of Conduct on Data Centre Energy Efficency is about reducing energy demand, securing future supply and lowering costs.
The European Code of Conduct has attracted about sixty (60) Endorsers and approximately twenty (20) Participants.
As an emerging and recognised standard of excellence with it's acceptance by The Green Grid, BCS and other leading industry organisations, it is quickly becoming an integral component of the UK Governments' ICT Greening Strategy.
The European Code of Conduct sets out guidance that can positively impact energy consumption and capital and operational costs for Data Centres.European Code of ConductWith the projected consumption of power for Data Centres alone expected to double by 2020, the laws of supply and demand principles will undoubtedly come into play.
To maximise the benefit of applying best practice, the main recommendation of best practice is to establish a benchmark to start from and then continually measure and iterate the process while applying best practices to reduce energy consumption and its associated cost.
Assessor provides the consulting expertise to enable you to run your own benchmarks, monitor the energy consumption and work with key data centre metrics such as PUE and DCiE.
